FloodWise Communities: Informational Webinar
Please join us to learn more about FloodWise Communities, a stormwater system vulnerability assessment program for communities in the Gulf South!

FloodWise Communities is generously funded by the National Academy of Sciences Gulf Research Program to partner with communities within 100 miles of the Gulf Coast to complete local stormwater system vulnerability assessments at no cost.

Throughout 2021, FloodWise will partner with practitioners from eligible communities to assess their local stormwater system for vulnerabilities to heavy precipitation, storms, floods and other extreme weather events.

The FloodWise vulnerability assessment was developed by cities, for cities (as well as counties and parishes) to support local stormwater management, adaptation planning, grants, project development, and related activities. Further, each assessment is informed by the best-available weather, climate, and socioeconomic data downscaled and customized for each participating community.

In this webinar, you will hear from FloodWise adaptation professionals, scientists, and practitioners who will share details about:
- the project background;
- the stormwater vulnerability assessment;
- custom data profiles;
- program benefits;
- what to expect; and
- how to enroll.

FloodWise is a partnership of NOAA’s GLISA and SCIPP programs, Stanford University, Adaptation International, and Headwaters Economics and is endorsed by the National League of Cities, National Association of Counties, and Texas SeaGrant.
