The Total Impact Portfolio Challenge (TIPC), hosted by Wharton Social Impact Initiative and SOCAP Global, is an annual competition to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and experience to design impact investment portfolios. Teams of graduate students from around the country are given an investor profile with certain financial and impact goals. This year, the fictional investor profile was that of a $75mm family foundation inspired by the pandemic and racial injustices to move their portfolio to impact. The student teams were tasked with building a portfolio across asset classes that meets the foundation’s requirements. During this event the final four teams, out of an initial 46 teams, will present their portfolios and investment rationale to a panel of industry expert judges.
Finalist teams include:
Bard College, Duke University, Fordham University, and University of Southern California
Ruth Shaber, Founder and President, Tara Health Foundation
Mary Green, VP, ESG Client Portfolio Manager, Federated Hermes
Mary Stokes, Managing Director, Bank of America Private Bank
