The Last Straw”, published in February 2021, is a study by Berlin-based think tank Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi), analysing the impact of chemical weapons use on women in Syria.
GPPi project lead Inji El-Bakry will present the study’s findings. This will include recorded testimonies by survivors of chemical weapons attacks.
This virtual side event will be hosted by Canadian Ambassador Lisa Helfand and German Ambassador Gudrun Lingner. Sanam Naraghi-Anderlini, Founder and Executive Director of the International Civil Society Action Network, will moderate the event.
The event is organised in remembrance of all victims of chemical warfare, and supported by the French Presidency of the International Partnership Against Impunity for Chemical Weapons Use.
