My School Has Reopened, Now What? What Assistant Principals Need to Know and Be Able to Do
As schools reopen this fall, assistant principals will play an integral and pivotal role in creating the best learning environment for students. Join our panel of Nationally Recognized Outstanding Assistant Principals of the Year as they share practical strategies for the beginning of the year to ensure success in reopening schools.

Participants will:

• Create effective tools/procedures that address the health and safety of students and staff.
• Promote quick, effective assessments of students in order to measure what they know and how best to meet their learning needs.
• Work with your building level principal to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• Design effective school schedules for maximizing student learning.

Presenters:
Dr. Andrea Thompson, Ph.D., 2020 NAESP Outstanding Assistant Principal of the Year for the State of Maryland and Assistant Principal of Mary Harris "Mother" Jones Elementary School in Adelphi, Maryland.

Equetta Jones is an educator, advocate, and parent who currently serves as the Assistant Principal of Highlands Elementary School in Wilmington, Delaware. Equetta was named the 2018 NAESP National Outstanding Assistant Principal of the Year by the Delaware Association of School Administration.

Andrew Lindsay currently serves as the Assistant Principal at Owen Intermediate School in Belleville, Michigan and the 2019 NAESP National Outstanding Assistant Principal of the Year for the State of Michigan.
