Focusing on the experiences I have had as an activist (from ARCI to Association La Comune di Riace, and current Association Le Veglie) and the moral urge we all feel in front of so much suffering and oppressing. I will report about the role of Europe and the single Member State (Italy) in the issue with Libia, dividing between what people and NGOs on the one hand and Governments on the other hand are doing. I will also refer to Riace as a model of possible peaceful co-existence and co-operation between locals and newcomers.
