Bringing Light & Heat: A Health Equity Guide for Healthcare Transformation and Accountability
More and more healthcare leaders are motivated to make health equity a core part of their organization’s mission but need guidance to translate that will into effective and sustainable action. Developed by national organizations with experience at the forefront of healthcare transformation and health equity initiatives, a new guidebook, Bringing Light & Heat: A Health Equity Guide for Healthcare Transformation and Accountability, provides this needed framework. The Guide outlines a strategic process for leaders and managers of healthcare institutions to commit to, own, and advance health equity and racial justice (bringing light) and outlines key questions stakeholders can use to help hold these systems accountable for this critical work (bringing heat).

This webinar will introduce the Guide and review the 5 key steps of a process to drive radical transformation to achieve equity. Guide co-authors include Health Leads, JSI, Human Impact Partners, SIREN at UCSF, and HealthBegins. Presenters will highlight strategic goals and practices to pursue at each step in the process to systematically transform how healthcare institutions advance health equity at patient, organization, community, and societal levels.

We welcome healthcare system leaders and those who work with payers, government agencies, community-based organizations, or advocacy groups to join us and discuss how this process can drive more institutional accountability for health equity.
