He has experience in the non-profit, consulting, and public service roles with a focus on watershed co-governance, policy work, and data analysis. Daniel Gladu Kanu (Director @Lake Winnipeg Indigenous Collective) Daniel Gladu Kanu is the director of the Lake Winnipeg Indigenous Collective (LWIC), the Indigenous voice for Lake Winnipeg that protects and preserves the lands and waters of our Nations to restoring the health of the sacred lake for future generations. He is of Anishinaabe, Irish, and Metis descent from Treaty 3 territory in Eastern Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario. Shianne McKay (Senior Project Manager @Centre for Indigenous Environmental Resources) Shianne McKay, BSc is a Senior Project Manager for the Centre for Indigenous Environmental Resources (CIER), Canada’s only Indigenous-directed environmental non-profit charitable organization. She is of Ojibway descent, a member of Pine Creek First Nation, and currently resides in Treaty 2 territory in Brandon. Shianne has 14 years’ experience in the Environmental Conservation Sciences field, with 13 years working directly with First Nation communities.
