Jane Finch Action Against Poverty and Free Transit Toronto are partnering to invite you to a webinar on the topic of 'Staying Safe on Public Transit'.
As the global health crisis continues, racialized and economically marginalized people face the twin threats of violent fare enforcement and Covid-19 infection. Both of these risks are statistically heightened for BIPOC individuals, who comprise a disproportionate percentage of essential workers, and who are travelling greater distances on public transit from neighbourhoods that have been hit the hardest during the outbreak.
This webinar will discuss the topics of traveling on public transit with health and safety in mind, interaction with fare enforcement authorities, and meeting the accessibility needs of transit ridership, all within the context of a global health pandemic and burgeoning public rejection of racism and police violence.
