The family started in 1857 and has grown to more than 467 cousins over seven generations, including 1,600 accounts, 250 adult households, hundreds of irrevocable trusts, 25 foundations, and a few public and private companies.

Greg Weyerhaeuser Piasecki served for 8 years as President of Rock Island Company, where he helped run his family’s system, including 250 households, 467 cousins, a thousand accounts, six branches, seven generations, two public companies, two dozen foundations, a large single family office, four mutual funds, and its seventh private equity fund of funds. As a member of the board of Clearwater Management Company, he oversaw the family-sponsored investment vehicles. Previously, he worked as an investment banker for Lazard Freres, Morgan Stanley & Co., and Pacific Solutions Group in New York, Shanghai, and Beijing. He graduated from Yale and Wharton. Today, Mr. Piasecki serves on the board of Piasecki Aircraft Corporation, a global leader in vertical take-off and landing aircraft. David Teten is Founder and Partner, Versatile Venture Capital, which invests in early-stage, capital-efficient companies. He was previously a Managing Partner with HOF Capital, a VC backed by 70 family offices and UHNWs across 21 countries, and a Partner with ff Venture Capital. David has a history of consistent top-quartile returns; he and his Partners grew AUM 10x at each of his two prior VC firms. David is also Founder of Harvard Business School Alumni Angels of Greater New York, now the largest angel group on the East Coast. He has particular focus on fintech. David has advised family offices and other institutional investors including Goldman Sachs Special Situations Group, Icahn Enterprises (Carl Icahn’s vehicle), Orascom TMT Investments (Sawiris family office), Real Ventures, and Right Side Capital. David was previously a serial fintech founder with two exits and ran an outsourced software development and IT consulting group.
