Regulation Changes and Best Practices for Underground Locates
An introduction about the new legal concept of Dedicated Locator as introduce in the amendments to OUNISA 2012. Dedicated Locator allows a project of any size to have a single dedicated locator to mark all underground infrastructure (excluding transmissions). We will talk about the benefits of using Dedicated Locator for excavating projects, the requirements for the member’s of Ontario One Call, and some of the lessons learnt to date.
• Learning outcomes.
To come out with an understanding or a better understanding of the benefits of Dedicated Locator and how it can help both the Owners of Underground Infrastructure and Project Owners, by allowing a Project Owner to control the locate delivery.

Adam Mordaunt
Director of Member Services @Ontario One Call
Adam Mordaunt is the Director of Member Services at Ontario One Call. For the past 8 years Adam has worked in and overseen the Member and Client Services Departments. His latest project is establishing and facilitating the Dedicated Locator Department. Coming from a career as a Navigation and Safety Officer on some of the world’s largest cruise ships, as well as working for the British Royal Navy, Adam brings a diverse background of safety and damage prevention.
