The C-Band Transition (Part 6b): Satellite Operators Intelsat and SES Update on Transition Activities, and Answer Questions

In the next engagement of our limited series of monthly webinars, ACA Connects welcomes Messrs. Corda and McNamara back to provide an update on the status of the C-Band transition as it particularly pertains to ACA Connects members. This will include ample time for live Q&A with them.

As we head into March, some of the programmers’ dual illumination periods -- where you need to take action at your facilities -- are due to end soon. Have you taken these actions yet? Have you received the IRDs you need for the compression changes occurring? Whether you elected to receive a lump sum payment, opted to have the satellite operators transition your earth station(s) on your behalf, or were not deemed by the FCC an “Incumbent Earth Station” and therefore must transition your earth station(s) by yourself at your own cost, actions should be taken now in order to ensure you will be able to offer your customers substantially the same level of service during and after the transition as you do currently, and that there is no disruption in programming.
