While there are many public discussions about the gender distribution of childcare and housework, the mental load has always been an invisible aspect of women’s lives that is felt by many but is difficult to discuss. The mental load is much more than housework. It is the thinking behind everything that needs to get done - forms to complete for childcare, organising babysitters, shopping lists, birthdays.
Our next LIVE coaching on June 18 will tackle how to manage the mental load. As we sit in the middle of the year, we are juggling more than ever without the enthusiasm of those early months or the excitement of the festive season approaching. In this session, we will explore how you can manage the mental load - with or without a partner, the importance of setting boundaries and using rituals of connection to find balance in your days, and, finally, how you can lean on your village to ease the pressure.
Grace Papers founder and CEO, Prue Gilbert, will host the discussion and will be joined by Amie Frydenberg, recently appointed partner at Landers & Rogers, Kate Gilson, Grace Papers' head of client strategy, and Mark Morris, manager, strategy and transformation, Redland City Council. A live Q&A will run at the end of the event.
