Louise Evelina du Pont Crowninshield: Powerful Preservationist is an exploration and a celebration of one of the 20th century’s most unrepresented women in the field of historic preservation. Louise Crowninshield had far-reaching influence, and she was able to connect the public with the past in surprising and innovative ways. Join Caroline Western-Osienski, Hagley’s Curator of Collections, for a discussion about Louise Crowninshield and her impact in Delaware and beyond.
Caroline Western-Osienski is the Curator of Collections at Hagley Museum and Library. She is responsible for overseeing the care and preservation of Hagley’s museum collection, which consists of nearly 70,000 artifacts pertaining to the du Pont family, DuPont Company, and the field of innovation. She holds a Master’s degree in Museum Studies from Johns Hopkins University, which was preceded by an undergraduate degree in Art Conservation and Anthropology from the University of Delaware. Outside of her professional activities, Caroline enjoys reading, practicing yoga, and walking and playing with her dog, named Bourbon.
