This is a crash course intensive with @earthartscenter founder Cloud (@wytchelm) an herbalist at @flowerpower_nyc since 2014. Her work is based on the wise woman tradition of plant-human allyship, integrating eastern & western philosophies for a holistic perspective. Leave knowing the basics of herbalism and practical applications for daily use.
The history of plant-human relationships vary across the world, yet all cultures have cultivated deep relationships with plant species, medicinally and magically.
In this workshop, we will introduce practical herbalism for wellness and healing, including methods of harvesting, processing and consuming herbs, roots, and mushrooms to experience their benefits. We will also cover the various uses of these herbs, as well as methods for integrating them into our lives according to the seasons. The second portion of this course will cover the creation of a flower essence, tea, infusion, tincture, vinegar, infused oil, and salve.
This class will be led by Cloud, an environmentalist, activist and artist living in New York. She completed her apprenticeship at Flower Power Herbs and Roots and has collegiate experience in ethnobotany, agro ecology and biodynamic agriculture. She graduated from Barnard College with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Policy & Science , and has a Masters of Public Administration in Environmental Policy and Science from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University. She is the founder of the Earth Arts, an ecology, arts and wellness non profit, working across NY state, as well as in Bushwick and Harlem. Her work focuses on healing the Earth-Human relationship through compassion and awareness.
