The New Measure of Safety Performance

Based on the new ANSI Standard, Z16.1-2022 Safety and Health Metrics and Performance Measures, the entire methodology of measuring safety performance has been updated to be more aligned with business concepts.

Organizations, as well as current ANSI and ISO management systems standards, recognize the need for metrics to effectively manage and improve safety and health performance. No longer are single leading and lagging metrics sufficient by themselves.

The Balanced Set of Metrics are based on a complementary balance of metrics with a set of risk reduction targets with set of metrics management system element or attribute to improve safety performance simultaneously continually.
