Resilience is defined as the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties, to “keep on” when obstacles arrive in front of us. In this workshop we will focus on how we learn to be resilient, what we know about resilience through science and we’ll review a five-step model for navigating challenge of any kind. In life and leadership obstacles are inherent, how we navigate them and shift to the opportunity on the other side can transform us as individuals and enhance our strengths as leaders.

Nicola Bentley is an educator and storyteller who blends her leadership experience in industry, government, and the not-for-profit sector with an engaging facilitation style. As a veteran communication strategist and community connector Nicola brings her team leadership experience to applied mindful-management training for organizations. She has led teams and initiatives across North America and offers trainings and talks that help teams and leaders focus on a human-centred approach. Nicola incorporates her own decades-long mindfulness practice and her own experiences with tapping into resilience with her strategic business acumen to design and deliver customized mindful management training, team workshops, talks and one-on-one sessions through her company
Nicola is a Leadership Mastermind Facilitator with W North Connect, an on-line community of women supporting one another to elevate the teams they work in, the families they lead and the communities in which they live. Nicola is also a board member with Zero Ceiling Society Canada. For over twenty years Zero Ceiling has helped young people facing homelessness find stability, support, and opportunities so that they can focus on personal growth to become the best version of themselves.
