Achieving SDG 2: Empowering Africa’s Youth to Build Greater Food Security
This engaging session will highlight numerous examples of how high school students are creating sustainable community gardens to better their futures. By growing their own vegetables and herbs on school grounds, students have the opportunity to learn agricultural practices, achieve higher nourishment for their own learning and development, take excess food back to their communities, and grasp an understanding of entrepreneurial activity by assessing the input/outcomes of their hard work. In collaboration with Teen Entrepreneur, Southern Africa’s foremost organisation championing entrepreneurship in high schools, the panel will consider how to encourage and nurture awareness to solving SDG 2 through Africa’s future: its young people.
