CSW67 Parallel Event: "Fit for future? - A Global Digital Compact for Gender Justice"
The Global Digital Compact – one of the most ambitious agendas on the new roadmap for a reinvigorated global multilateralism of the UN – intends to outline shared principles to guide the future of international digital cooperation to ensure an inclusive and equitable digital future for all.

Over 2022, the Political Feminism Program of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung and IT for Change convened a series of regional dialogues in Asia-Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean, Middle East and North Africa, as well as Sub-Saharan Africa to build a contextually-embedded vision of the new global digital deal that feminists want, with participation from over 100 feminist activist groups, academics and trade union representatives.

At this CSW parallel event, we seek to present this Charter of Feminist Demands on what feminists seek from the Global Digital Compact, in order to catalyse a discussion on how the various wings of the multilateral system, national governments, private sector, and civil society can join hands to collaborate on shaping the future evolutionary trajectories of platform, data and AI technologies towards public digital innovation for gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls.

Our international panel will focus on the following questions:
• How can we make the Global Digital Compact work for the gender equality agenda?
• And what should be the key messages from CSW67 to the GDC process?

The event features two keynote presentations from H.E. Svenja Schulze, Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Germany and H.E. Mathu Joyini, Ambassador and Co-chair of CSW67.
