Under the remit of the World Triathlon Development Team, a guidance document has been created to provide information and advice for the organization of races for young athletes under 19-years of age.
In constructing the guidance a wide range of sources and people were consulted including analysing current rules in the majority of the NFs who are ACEP (Accreditation of Coach Education Program) accredited, input from World Triathlon Medical/Technical Official/Coaching committees, input from NF representatives from every continent including developed and developing federations, and from academic research.
The guidance document covers a range of topics, and is influenced by the wider aims of safe, life-long participation and enjoyment in sport. It is based on a range of concepts and ideas. With the aim of transparency and education the Development team will hold a Webinar that discusses the key points and allows interested parties to raise questions and suggestions. In the longer term the intention is that this guidance will develop over time based upon the feedback of those using it.
The webinar is hosted by James Jolly (GBR) - Coaching Facilitator and Coach Education Consultant @World Triathlon (Coach Educator for British Triathlon; Level 3 Coach; MSc. Masters Degree in Sports Coaching; Author of the World Triathlon Guidance for Events for Under-19s document).
The webinar can host 500 participants. Please make your reservation here until 14 October 2020, 24:00 CET! This is also the deadline to submit your questions to email@example.com.
