Shantell Berrett Blake
Dyslexia Specialist and Lead Professional Development @Reading Horizons
Shantell Berrett Blake has a M.A. in Education with a Reading Science concentration and dyslexia certification, and is a Dyslexia Interventionist. She has worked for Reading Horizons for the past 11 years and is currently their Lead Professional Development and Dyslexia Specialist. She has trained and educated thousands of educators as a national presenter and consultant on the science of reading and dyslexia. Prior to joining Reading Horizons, Shantell was an English teacher for three years, a tutor in reading and English for 15 years, and a dyslexia tutor for 10 years. The catalyst for her graduate work and professional path was her desire to help one of her three children who was diagnosed with dyslexia and dysgraphia. Since then, Shantell has acquired advanced training and certification in Orton-Gillingham from her International Dyslexia Association accredited graduate program. She is also LETRS and CERI certified, and a member of Decoding Dyslexia Utah and the IDA.
