WSPID Journal Club - November 2022
Description
You are warmly invited to this WSPID Journal Club session! The purpose of the Journal Club is to present a critique of an article in order to better understand how to frame effective clinical questions, understand databases, perform searches, as well as review the basics of study designs, relevant statistics and the concepts of ethics and justice. This initiative is co-led by Young WSPID and volunteers from the regional pediatric infectious diseases societies.

Program:
Welcome and introductions - 10 minutes
Critique of article by Dr. Mario Alejandro Bustos Paz - 20 minutes
Discussion with the audience & faculty - 20 minutes
Closing remarks - 10 minutes
We will be offering a certificate of attendance for joining the live session. You will be able to claim a certificate after filling in the post-session evaluation form at the end of the session. A link to the survey will also be sent to all live attendees after the session.

First year fellow of Pediatric Infectious diseases at Universidad del Valle. Eduardo Lopez Medina (MD MSc @Centro de Estudios en Infectología Pediátrica and Department of Pediatrics, Universidad del Valle) Dr. López- Medina completed his medical training at Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia, pediatric residency at Miami Children´s Hospital, infectious diseases fellowship at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and epidemiology training at The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Subsequently, he completed a program in clinical research from Harvard University (Global Clinical Scholars Research Training) and currently is the Latin American representative in the Educational Committee of The World Society for Pediatric Infectious Diseases, the Latin-American Pediatric Infectious Disease Society (SLIPE) representative in the Infectious Diseases Committee of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Colombian representative in the Research and Immunocompromised Committees from SLIPE and the Latin American representative in the International Pediatric Society.
