Conversations About OUR Community: MLK Day: The State of Racial Equity in Lancaster County

United Way of Lancaster County and YWCA Lancaster invite the public to tune in to the start of United Way's 2023 community conversation series, "Conversations About OUR Community: MLK Day: The State of Racial Equity in Lancaster County" on Tuesday, January 17 from 12:00 to 1:30 pm.

The conversation will focus on the state of racial equity in Lancaster County and will highlight the voices of community leaders involved in the development of the newly released Lancaster County Racial Equity Profile.

The Equity Profile is designed to provide a guiding pathway for Lancaster County community members, local organizations, business leaders, and elected officials to understand the state of equity in the county by providing disaggregated data and identifying priority areas for policy and systems change.

As Lancaster County grows more diverse, addressing racial inequity is the pathway to improving vitality and growth for everyone. The Equity Profile helps illuminate the stories we already know, brings new questions to the table, and enables everyone to see themselves as part of a new opportunity to create a Lancaster County that is a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family for all.

The event will consist of a short presentation by Kevin Ressler, President & CEO, United Way of Lancaster County, followed by a Q&A with the panelists listed below:

- Alisa Jones, President & CEO, Union Community Care
- Dr. Leroy Hopkins, Professor Emeritus of Foreign Languages, Millersville University
- Sam Bressi, President & CEO, Lancaster County Community Foundation
- Stacie Blake, CEO, YWCA Lancaster
- Vanessa Philbert, CEO, Community Action Partnership of Lancaster County

The conversation and Q&A will be moderated by Dr. Amber Sessoms, Founder & Chief Visionary Officer, Natural Inclination, LLC.
