Medical Technology (MedTech) - Meet an inventor from the Medical Technology field

MedTech is the innovative field resulting from the application of technology to the medical field and has contributed to the development of products, services and solutions saving and improving people’s life. New technologies like AI have increased the rate of innovation in this field and are bound to change the way we experience medical care.

Participants will learn how patents can be used to protect MedTech inventions and will find out about some of the challenges in the patent granting process specific to the application of new technologies to medicine. Participants will hear from a wide range of IP professionals - inventors, IP specialists and examiners - how patents can be filed and later used to protect MedTech devices or methods and thereby prevent unauthorised commercial exploitation by third parties.

The four online lectures are an ideal opportunity for participants to interact with EPO examiners, IP specialists and inventors active in MedTech.
