People Power: How to Mobilize Communities of Faith for Social Justice
At the heart of politics is community. Politics is the way we decide to live in community with each other. It’s a way to build bridges and promote the common good.

In a video message from 2021, Pope Francis called this “'politics with a capital P', politics as service, which opens new pathways for the people to organize and express itself. … [it is] not just for the people, but with the people, rooted in their communities and in their values."

This is easier said than done.

It’s often difficult to get people to join advocacy initiatives or action teams. It can also be overwhelming to reach out to your community, especially when some people can be indifferent or hostile to the issue you care about (such as with migration reform) or even deny there’s a problem (such as with climate change).

But there are tools and strategies that can help you get people on board with your cause.

Join the St. Columban Mission for Justice, Peace and Ecology to learn the tools to have effective and transformative one-on-one conversations about social justice issues as well as how to organize your community to achieve advocacy “wins.”

This webinar begins at 4:00pm ET and will be 90 minutes long, including time for Q&A.
