Presented by the League of Women Voters - Berkeley Heights, New Providence, and Summit
Co-hosted by the Historical Society of Plainfield / Drake House Museum and Plainfield Public Library
From the right to vote to the right to be free from violence, American women have campaigned for equality. But the women’s movement is more than a mere political fight, it’s a cultural battle for American hearts and minds. This program includes a 25-minute documentary focusing the intersection of music and politics in the Women’s Movement, which will be followed by an author-led conversation based on the book and film, "Songs of the Suffragists." You do not need to read the book in advance to participate.
