He holds a PhD in political science from the Free University of Berlin, and his expertise is in disarmament, arms control and non-proliferation; Iran’s nuclear program; and European security. Prior to the ELN, Oliver has worked for the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy, the International Security Division of the German SWP, the Arms Control Association, the Bundestag, and the Center for International Security and Cooperation at Stanford. From 1999-2002, he was a Senior Researcher at VERTIC, where he focused on arms control and verification. Trevor Findlay (Principal Fellow @University of Melbourne) Dr Trevor Findlay is a Principal Fellow in the School of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Melbourne and a published author. His most recent book is ‘Transforming Safeguards Culture: Iraq, the IAEA and the Future of Nonproliferation’. Trevor holds a PhD in international relations from the Australian National University; his specializations include disarmament, arms control, non-proliferation, nuclear security and governance, and the future of nuclear energy. He has held positions with the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, Harvard’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, the UN Secretary-General's Advisory Board on Disarmament Affairs, SIPRI, and the Australian diplomatic service. Trevor was Executive Director of VERTIC from 1998-2005. Angela Woodward (Deputy Executive Director @VERTIC) Angela Woodward is the Deputy Executive Director and Programme Director for Compliance Mechanisms and Measures at VERTIC. She holds an LLM in public international law from LSE, and her expertise spans a range of issues including nuclear disarmament verification, UN sanctions, landmines, and biological and chemical weapons law and verification. Angela has been at VERTIC since 1999 in a succession of posts, including Executive Director from 2007-2009. In addition to her work at VERTIC, she has held various advisory positions with the Asia-Pacific Leadership Network on Nuclear Nonproliferation and Disarmament, the Disarmament and Security Centre, New Zealand’s Autonomous Weapons Systems Working Group and Public Advisory Committee on Disarmament and Arms Control, the UN Group of Governmental Experts on Verification, and the EU Joint Action on the BTWC.
