Jenny Lester
Host @Sing & Strings
Hi! I am your hostess Jenny Lester. I started playing bluegrass music with my family band, The Driftwood Canyon Family Band, in Smithers BC when I was 7. Since then I have earned a degree in commercial music from South Plains College in Texas, majoring in Bluegrass, and have worked as a musician for nearly 30 years and in 16 different countries. (Once I was a Canadian playing with Australians pretending to be Americans in a Wild West theme park in Taiwan.) I am currently on Vancouver Island and leading these workshops from the Coombs BC rodeo grounds, home of the first bluegrass festival I ever went to. This brings back memories. This online series would not happen without the experience of being with real people in person making music together. I hope this course helps you prepare for playing with people in your circles.
