Dr. Thomas Carlson
Professor & Branch Director
Tom Carlson joined the CFT Program at Alliant International University-San Diego Campus, as a full professor in 2021. He brings 21 years of teaching and supervision experience in a COAMFTE accredited training program. Dr. Carlson is committed to centering his teaching, supervision, and clinical practice in social justice principles. He has published widely on feminist and social justice approaches to training and supervision as well as LGBTQ affirmative therapy and training.
Dr. Rachael Olufowote
Assistant Professor & Branch Director
Dr. Olufowote is a licensed marriage and family therapist and AAMFT Clinical Fellow and Approved Supervisor. She specializes in couples therapy and is an Advanced EFT therapist and member of the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy. She serves on the board of the Indiana Association of Marriage and Family Therapy as the Member-At-Large Representative. Her research interests focus on positive attachment change, interracial/multinational couples, couples therapy, and qualitative methodology.
Mallory Mitchell
Licensed Marriage And Family Therapist, Mallory Mitchell Therapy @Alliant International University Alum
Mallory Mitchell graduated from the Alliant MFT program in 2011, completing the Certificate In Chemical Dependency and EFT Externship in addition to the MA, MFT curriculum. Gaining her hours towards licensure working in both private practice and with individuals with Serious Mental Illness in the public sector, Mallory was licensed in 2015. Transitioning to leadership roles and program development, Mallory served as both the Assistant Program Director at Alpine Special Treatment Center, and then as the Clinical Director and Clinical Supervisor at APEX Recovery, where she provided supervision to both Practicum Students and Pre-licensed Therapists. Now working solely in Private Practice, Mallory works with adult individuals and couples with a focus on trauma and navigating life’s challenges.
