In this dual role, Jeffrey is responsible for serving the Lottery’s legal needs and leading its knowledgeable and highly skilled purchasing team. Jeffrey joined the CT Lottery in 2016 as Counsel handling commercial transactions and contracting and guiding the purchasing team as a legal business partner on RFPs and other purchasing-related matters. Jeffrey has over 20 years of legal and procurement experience working at public and private companies and nonprofit organizations. Jeffrey holds a BBA from The George Washington University and a JD/MBA from Loyola University New Orleans. Stephen Day (Fiscal Administrative Officer (FAO) @CT Lottery) Stephen Day is a North Haven, CT native. He studied at Stonehill College in Easton, MA and graduated with his BS in Business Management. Prior to his current role as the CT Lottery’s FAO, Stephen worked for several years outside of Boston, MA in the water treatment industry. He currently is responsible for overseeing the Lottery’s purchasing of goods and services and ensuring all needs are met in a timely manner by the procurement team. He had the opportunity to pursue his passion of soccer at the collegiate level and as a youth instructor, which greatly fortified his understanding of teamwork and collaboration. Building relationships and continuous learning are of utmost importance to him as the evolution of technology and digitization continues to transform the way we live. Karen L. Chambrello (Fiscal Administrative Assistant (FAA) @CT Lottery) Karen Chambrello, currently a Fiscal Administrative Assistant, started at the CT Lottery eight years ago. Karen has worked in the Purchasing Department for the past three years, starting as a Purchasing Assistant before being promoted to an FAA. Karen works with the purchasing team to ensure that the Lottery’s purchasing needs are met in an accurate and timely fashion. Prior to her promotion to FAA, Karen worked as a Storekeeper Assistant in the Lottery’s Order Packaging Department. In this position, she was responsible for various functions such as packing tickets, checking in new games, and working with courier providers. Additionally, she worked with the Marketing, Sales, and Security Department when necessary. Karen came to the CT Lottery having 25 years of experience in purchasing, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Marilyn Benjamin (Fiscal Administrative Assistant (FAA) @CT Lottery) Marilyn Benjamin has nearly 30 years of experience in the procurement field. Most of her experience has been in the apparel industry, including but not limited to, Director of Purchasing for FILA, USA and Director of Logistics for Marc Ecko Brands. She also ventured into sole proprietorship for three years, which helped broaden her managerial skills. Currently, Marilyn is a FAA where she and her colleagues procure goods and services for the CT Lottery. Marilyn holds a BFA in Fashion Merchandising from Pratt Institute, and enjoys traveling, international cuisine, and reading. Ishrat Nazmi (Procurement Specialist @CT APEX) Ishrat Nazmi has 10 plus years’ experience as a Supply Chain Professional in the Aerospace Industry (Pratt & Whitney) with Procurement of Goods and Services. In addition to holding positions; including Drafting Technician, Project Engineer, Procurement Analyst and a part owner of an IT Software Solution Company. Ishrat’ s diverse experiences not only enriched her understanding of Supply Chain, but also has given her an in-depth understanding of entrepreneurship and various business models. Her experiences in Manufacturing and Sourcing of Aerospace, IT and Retail industries greatly contributes to the CT APEX team and its mission. Ishrat is passionate about working to improve the business growth in Connecticut through government contracting.
