The World says No to the Cuban Embargo Let’s Dance!
Celebrate with us at a free virtual concert!

Join us as we take you to Santiago de Cuba to meet 7 amazing women who make music. The musicians of Morena Son have invited us into their living room for a special international jam session.

The son and bolero music that Morena Son will play for us were born in Santiago de Cuba more than 100 years ago and are still played constantly at family gatherings and Santiago’s cultural landmarks, like La Casa de la Trova.

We have a responsibility to the artists we´ll be hearing and the Cuban people: For 40 years, the US government embargo has tried—and failed-- to suppress the joy and creativity that we so love about this music and the people who make it. Cubans have responded by surviving, and maintaining the exuberance and generosity you’ll see throughout this concert. But it has been hard on them. It's time to end the illegal embargo!

CODEPINK, Global Exchange, Americas Program, The People’s Forum, Center for Global Justice, IFCO/Pastors for Peace, WPFW, WBAI, Radio Jornalera and Violeta Radio are hosting this incredible concert to celebrate the June 23 vote at the United Nations, when the world will once again come together to denounce the cruel U.S. blockade of Cuba. This event will be livestreamed on Facebook and Zoom and Youtube.
