Wikidata turns 10 on October 29th, so Wiki Education is celebrating with a month-long speaker series where our very own Will "Wikidata Will" Kent will host conversations with Wikidata community members about how they have worked to enrich Wikidata and how Wikidata has enriched their work.
Please join us if you are a long-time Wikidatan, a linked data novice, or just someone who enjoys listening to smart people discuss passion projects. We hope you'll enjoy this series as a celebration of Wikidata's ongoing influence in the internet's information ecosystem!
In the kick-off to the series, Will, Kelly Doyle, Andrew Lih, and Lane Rasberry will discuss the "state of Wikidata" 10 years in. We'll learn how Wikidata is (or is not) integrated into Wikipedia, how it helps an enormous institution like the Smithsonian or the University of Virginia achieve its goals, and how Kelly, Andrew, Lane, and their colleagues work to keep a Wikidata Initiative going.
