The Office of Equity will provide strategies and tools for creating a pro-equity anti-racism (PEAR) ecosystem in Washington state. These strategies and tools advance the Office of Equity’s mission to facilitate policy and systems change to promote equitable policies, practices, and outcomes by assisting agencies in applying an equity lens in all aspects of agency decision making, including service delivery, program development, policy development, and budgeting (RCW 43.06D.040). Specifically, this session introduces the Office of Equity’s pro-equity anti-racism framework to reimagine how state government
functions, statewide implementation under Executive Order 22-04, and how to build relationships with community and employees to eliminate disparities together in agency business lines through an equity lens.
This presentation has been given virtually but can also be done in person or in a hybrid environment, and involves the use of videos, audience participation, visual aids, handouts, and models to engage and meet different learning styles.
