Description
The Basic Energy Sciences (BES) program supports fundamental research aimed at understanding, predicting, and ultimately controlling matter and energy at the electronic, atomic, and molecular levels. This research is crucial for developing new energy technologies and advancing the Department of Energy's (DOE) missions related to energy, the environment, and national security. Additionally, the BES program plans, constructs, and operates major scientific user facilities that serve researchers from universities, national laboratories, and private institutions. Overall, the BES program funds projects at more than 160 research institutions.
Join us for an insightful presentation led by Dr. Andrew Schwartz, who will explore the vital materials research activities supported by the BES. Discover the significance of national user facilities in advancing materials science research and learn how these initiatives drive innovation and progress in the field.
