In these IAYT-approved classes we go over the poses shown to reverse bone loss in people with osteopenia and osteoporosis, and build bone also in those people that have normal bone mineral density and want to stay that way. The First Series has been demonstrated to have these desirable effects. As it turns out, work with special MRIs has indicated that yoga also improves trabecular bone, (again, the First Series). Trabeculae are the supports and cross-struts inside each bone that account for anywhere from 30% to 70% of a bone's strength, that is, its resistance to fracture.
We are currently testing the Second Series, which was constructed along the same principles as the first, but also adresses the wrists. Early results show increased trabecular development in this series, too.
These classes enable up to three participants to present one or more of the poses, and we will help them to improve their yoga (if indeed it needs improving). The classes give the First Series every other week, and alternate the Second Series and Third Series on the weeks in between. So the schedule looks like this:
March 2nd-THIRD SERIES
March 9th- FIRST SERIES
March 16th-SECOND SERIES
March 23rd-FIRST SERIES
March 30th-THIRD SERIES
April 6 - FIRST SERIES
April 13 - SECOND SERIES
and so on.
People are welcome to sign up for one or more sessions. A full recording will be sent to all registrants within 24 hours of the webinar.
We are also conducting a study on the First and Second Series. Those interested should write to Carampmr@gmail.com.
Each class will count for one hour of CME for IAYT.
