Prayer, music and a discussion on ways to build a loving communal spirit in a Catholic Native American way will be presented in celebration of the life of St. Kateri Tekakwitha on her feast day. Our special guest is Father Michael Carson, Assistant Director Secretariat of Cultural Diversity in the Church, Subcommittee on Native American Affairs in the Church. Father Carson will talk on the Saint and discuss initiatives to address the need for spiritual closure in relation to indigenous residential schools. Other presenters include Deacon Larry Deschaine, Sr. Trina McCormick and Sr. Anita Braganza and Chief Mary Louise Worthy, Lower Eastern Cherokee Nation.
