From Othello to Hamilton: Race and Black Presence in American Theatre
A panel discussion and conversation hosted by Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre.

Join AST alum and cast member of Broadway’s Hamilton, Fergie L. Philippe, along with other esteemed panelists for an exciting discussion that follows the course of Black representation and visibility in theatre, from Paul Robeson’s trailblazing Broadway performance as the title role in Shakespeare’s Othello in 1943, to Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Broadway smash hit Hamilton. This panel discussion will be offered LIVE on Zoom on Wednesday, July 8th at 7pm Central Time. The Zoom audience will be able to ring in via live chat with questions for the panelists.
