Rural Affordable Housing 101 Webinar

CCEDA understands affordable housing to be one of the most pressing issues in California. Over a third of California’s residents are experiencing poverty. This reality, along with high housing costs and low vacancy rates, has led to increased housing insecurity and a serious need for affordable housing. This crisis disproportionately affects poor and working-class people, as well as people of color. Rampant gentrification and a lack of legislative solutions shows us very clearly, we need all hands on deck in addressing this crisis.

It is for this reason that CCEDA joined forces with California Coalition For Rural Housing to bring community economic development organizations new to this cause a foundational introduction to creating affordable housing. CCRH will dive into the specifics of affordable housing in rural communities, shedding light on initiatives and strategies utilized to build the capacity to address this crisis.

The Affordable Housing Webinar discussions will include:

• Funding and financing innovations for affordable housing.
• Obstacles and solutions to developing affordable housing in rural communities.
• Affordable housing that addresses the needs of farm workers.
