Brenisen Wheeler
Education and Outreach Coordinator @Women's Advocates
Brenisen provides hundreds of presentations, trainings, and workshops in the community to address domestic violence where we live, learn, work, and gather. Since starting in this position in April 2019, she has already reached thousands of community members, professionals, and students within the state of Minnesota equipping them with the education, tools, and resources to collectively unite and break the cycle of domestic violence. Her educational background includes a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Minnesota and and several years of research experience studying and presenting on identity, mental health, marginalization and trauma.
Meggie Royer
Youth and Prevention Program Manager @Violence Free Minnesota
Meggie Royer is the Youth and Prevention Program Manager at Violence Free Minnesota, the statewide domestic violence coalition of Minnesota. She leads the coalition’s Youth Advisory Board and healthcare work, partnering with community health centers and state health agencies to improve the public health response to domestic & sexual violence and reproductive coercion, and provides technical assistance and training to family home visiting nurses across the state. In addition, she was an author of the coalition’s 30 Year Intimate Partner Homicide Report. Her previous roles in the field include an education and outreach position at a domestic violence shelter and a hospital-based domestic violence advocacy position.
