It’s college decision season, with students all over the country making one of the biggest choices of their lives. But what information can prospective students and their families access when weighing postsecondary options?
Join Third Way, in partnership with New America and the Institute for Higher Education Policy (IHEP), on Tuesday, May 4th, for a conversation about higher education’s data problems and how improving access to quality data will also improve student outcomes. Event attendees will have an opportunity to explore the College Scorecard—the US Department of Education’s main college search tool—with Michael Itzkowitz, Senior Fellow of Higher Education at Third Way (former director of the Scorecard). Then Dr. Bryan Cook, Vice President, Data and Policy Analysis at the Association of Public & Land-Grant Universities; Peter Hans, President of the University of North Carolina System; and Mamie Voight, Interim President, the Institute for Higher Education Policy will join us for a discussion on existing data limitations and the current state of legislative play of data improvement.
