The 1619 Project Law School Initiative Event Series Launch
Please join the Pulitzer Center, Howard University School of Law and the University of Miami School of Law on Friday, February 26, at 12:30 pm EST for the first in a series of sessions as part of The 1619 Project Law School Initiative.

This virtual conversation will examine legal education in the context of The 1619 Project. The session will feature remarks from attorney Rodney Slater, Board of Directors of the Squire Patton Boggs Foundation. Slater will be joined by law students and faculty from each of our partner schools who collaborated to create curricular resources to introduce The 1619 Project and spark frank conversations about the legacy of slavery in legal education.

During the event, Ariana Aboulafia and Maddie Seales from the University of Miami School of Law and Asena Tui’one and Mike Walker from Howard University School of Law will discuss their experiences working on the module resources. Also participating will be Marni Lennon, University of Miami School of Law assistant dean (Public Interest & Pro Bono) and Carmia Cesar, Howard University director of Experiential Learning and assistant dean of Career Services.
