Hour of Code: Coding in Music

Computer Science Education week is December 5th - 11th! Register your classroom for a virtual Hour of Code with CodeHS to give your students the opportunity to learn how coding connects to the real world.

This workshop will began with guest speaker Ademusoyo Awosika-Olumo, Tech Lead at Wistia. She will share information about her exciting coding journey and answer any questions students may have.

The CodeHS team will then dive in with students to explore how coding is used in music creation by building their own dynamic eight-count beats and patterns with JavaScript blocks! Check out the hour-long tutorial students will work through here: https://codehs.com/hoc_music

Recommended Skill Level: Beginner, Middle School or High School

Setup: this workshop will be a webinar format, which means that students will not be able to write into a chat field or show their video. We will open up the chat for introductions at the start of the workshop and for questions at the end of the workshop.
