Most job description focus on skills—usually technical skills. Interpersonal skills may get a passing mention—“strong communication skills,” or “ability to work in a team." But team skills barely come up. When they do, they’re lumped under “collaboration.” That’s a big umbrella term, that included everything from negotiation to navigating conflict.

May 25, 2021: Expanding Your Influence
People often try to talk people into doing something using logic and persuasion. But that doesn’t always work, and when it doesn’t it can damage relationships.
Fortunately, there are many other ways to influence people, from modeling to inserting new ideas by sharing articles, posts, or videos. But sometimes you need someone else to take action to further your goals. However, they may have different priorities, interests, or different goals. Then you need to find some mutual purpose. And to do that you need to know something about the people you want to influence.

June 29, 2021: Getting Unstuck
At one time or another, we’ve all been stuck.
We need an idea but can’t think of one. We need to take action on a particular thing, but find a million other things to do. We identify something as a priority, but don’t do it. Sometimes, can get ourselves unstuck—if we have strategies. But other times we need a good listener and some good questions to break the mental log jam.
I’ll share some strategies for unsticking yourself. And some you might use as a manager, coach, or colleague to help someone else get unstuck.
