Solano County Office of Education - Budget Perspectives Workshop, May Revision 2021
The Governor’s January budget proposal followed a dramatic turnaround in state revenues compared to the estimates used in the June 2020 Budget Act, and more recent revenue reports show continued growth. For the May Revision, these revenues will translate to increases in Proposition 98 funding over the three-year budget period, with large amounts of one-time funds and some significant growth in on-going funding as well.

In addition to fiscal issues, schools face a number of policy and program concerns, including whether the transition to full-time, in-person instruction will be complete by next school year or whether significant numbers of students will continue to be served through virtual or hybrid programs.

All of this, plus the political backdrop of a likely recall election, should make for an interesting and lively discussion of the May Revision budget proposal. The Capitol Advisors team will provide the latest political, fiscal, budget and policy information you need to plan for your own budgets and programs, including specifics on LCFF, distance learning and school reopening rules, early learning, special education, etc. As always, this presentation by Capitol Advisors includes an ongoing collaboration with ACSA, CSBA, SSDA, AALRR and CLIMATEC.
