Brazil’s Fintech New Framework: Its Impact on the Financial Market

The Central Bank of Brazil (BCB) issued a new set of fintech regulations covering payment firms on March 11, 2022 its first update to key rules for the sector in nine years. BFBC intends for the new rules to spur competition in the space and rein in riskier business structures.

The BCB's monitors technological innovations — aligned to those of other regulatory bodies and with the governmental agenda — and assess their potential impacts on operations conducted within the National Financial System (SFN) and the Brazilian Payment System (SPB).
