Towards implementation: momentum for lung cancer screening in the EU
The Lung Cancer Policy Network warmly invites you to a round table: turning recommendations into the implementation of lung cancer screening in the EU.

The global impact of lung cancer is considerable. It incurs the greatest economic burden of all cancers and accounts for around one fifth of all cancer deaths. The case for targeted lung cancer screening using low-dose CT is well-evidenced, with screening offering a critical opportunity to improve survival. However, government guidance and investment in implementation across Europe is still far from optimal.

Implementation has been established in some countries. Whilst these are currently the exception, they provide the opportunity to learn how to address barriers to implementation and optimise the success of future screening programmes.

The round table will include opportunity for questions and discussion, including on topics around how we can best optimise the link between smoking cessation and screening, how investment in lung cancer screening can be viewed within the broader cancer screening context, as well as showcasing successful implementation examples from within the EU.

We hope you can join us for this event. A full agenda will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
