All California hospitals with perinatal units are required to adopt and fully implement, by January 1, 2025, The Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding, per the WHO Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative, or California Model Hospital Policy Recommendations that include evidenced-based policies and practices and targeted outcomes for all infants.
