Join the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation to learn more about volunteer opportunities and how you can make a difference for the paralysis community through advocacy and outreach. This webinar will explore the Regional Champions and Ambassador Programs; presenters will discuss the focus of each program, the regional champion and ambassador roles, and how to get involved. A regional champion who is also an ambassador will share her experiences as a volunteer.
The Regional Champions Program is made up of our legislative first responders, grassroots advocates who care about issues impacting the paralysis community and are willing to take the time to cultivate relationships with members of Congress. Through letters, phone calls and meetings with Congressional staff, regional champions share their stories in support of the Reeve Foundation’s legislative priorities and attend monthly webinars to get policy updates and learn advocacy best practices.
The Ambassador Program is a grassroots effort to raise awareness of the Paralysis Resource Center’s programs and materials within the paralysis community. Focusing on hospitals and rehabilitation centers in their area, trained ambassadors conduct outreach to these facilities and meet with their staff to introduce them to the many resources available to their patients through the Paralysis Resource Center. As a result of their outreach and education, ambassadors increase access to vital services and information that can make a difference for individuals living with paralysis and their families.
This event is FREE for everyone to attend. Live captioning will be available.
