A Stronger and Wider Peace: A US Strategy for Advancing the Abraham Accords
The Abraham Accords – the normalization deals struck between Israel and four Arab states within the space of six months in late 2020 – represent a major achievement of American diplomacy. While, contrary to some expectations, no additional countries have yet been brought into the circle of peace, the Accords have powered a remarkable leap forward in Israel’s relations with several of its new partners, including important steps in the sensitive area of defense cooperation. If further deepened and expanded, the Accords hold out the extraordinary promise of not only ending Israel’s more than seven-decade long conflict with the majority of the Arab states, but of bringing America’s best Middle East allies together for the first time in an effective coalition to bolster regional stability, security, and prosperity against the forces of extremism and violence.

Please join JINSA for a special event to mark the release of an important new report, “A Stronger and Wider Peace: A US Strategy for Advancing the Abraham Accords.” The report represents the consensus views of a high-level task force of retired U.S. flag officers and senior officials convened by JINSA for the purposes of assessing the Accords and how the United States can best build on them to advance its national interests in the Middle East, especially in the defense sphere.
