“Out of Many” is a series of virtual live conversations streamed every Tuesday evening through the duration of The National Academy of Design’s digital exhibition e pluribus: Out of Many. The exhibition brings together works by over 100 National Academicians that imagine what futures can be created if we stop pursuing a mythological national unity and accept our reality as an incongruent collective. This year’s digital exhibition revives the Academy’s tradition of the Annual Exhibition which was held from 1826 to 2015 as a survey of new developments in contemporary art and architecture. The exhibition is curated by American art and cultural historian Dr. Kelli Morgan and is designed by Linked by Air.
Weekly, Dr. Kelli Morgan or the National Academy's Chief Curator, Sara Reisman will be in conversation with a different artist or architect from the exhibition. Participating Academicians include Don Porcaro, Fred Tomaselli, Roberto Juarez, Sangram Majumdar, Marlon Blackwell, Leslie Wayne, Joyce Kozloff, Dread Scott, and Lorraine Shemesh.
The National Academy of Design invites you to the live “Out of Many” conversation between Sara Reisman and Fred Tomaselli on Tuesday, Oct. 5th at 7 pm EST. Live audience Q&A to follow.
