Dr. Trevor Buser, PhD
Professor of Counseling @Associate Professor, Naropa University
Dr. Trevor Buser is an associate professor at Naropa University. He is also a licensed professional counselor. Previously, he worked as a college counselor, private practice counselor, and healthcare consultant. In clinical practice, he enjoys working with adolescents, adults, families, and couples. He has advanced training in trauma counseling, mindfulness-based applications, hypnotherapy, and addictions treatments. Dr. Buser has authored over 30 publications on the topics of mindfulness, spirituality, cognitive style, family dynamics, group counseling, addictions, sexuality, and self-injury. He presents regularly at national conferences in the mental health field. Additionally, Dr. Buser brings a dedicated focus on addictions. He is past president of the International Association of Addictions and Offender Counselors. He is the former editor of the Journal of Addictions & Offender Counseling, a national journal affiliated with the American Counseling Association.
